Cruise Scotland expands its membership

Montrose becomes the latest port to join the marketing organisation.

Cruise Scotland has welcomed the Port of Montrose as the latest member to join the national marketing organisation, increasing the membership roll to sixteen ports.

Representing ports and service companies throughout the country, the organisation is keen to increase its membership and profile in what is an ever increasing competitive sector with abundant worldwide destinations to choose from.

Cruise Scotland Chairman, Victor Sandison, said: "We’re delighted that Montrose has joined us in our endeavours to develop and increase inbound cruise tourism in Scotland and we hope that our collective marketing efforts will help to influence growth in cruise ship visits to the port in the years ahead."

Nik Scott-Gray, Chief Executive of Montrose Port Authority commented “Scotland has so much to offer the Cruise Industry and we look forward to being part of the Cruise Scotland Team. We are keen to grow cruise calls to Montrose as it is fantastic base from which to explore a wide range of attractions in Angus and the wider area. We see Cruise Scotland as a great platform to promote the port as part of our overall marketing efforts”.

A delegation from Cruise Scotland will be participating in the industry’s premier global event – Seatrade Cruise Global in Fort Lauderdale, Florida from 14 to 17 March.
