Cruise Ship Oriana leaving Orkney

The P&O cruise ship Oriana with a passenger capacity of 1,970 left Hatston yesterday (Tuesday) 6th July.

The local media and Orkney Islands Council officials were treated to lunch on board following a tour of the ship.

All the local tours were very well received and passengers 'shopped till they dropped' in the Island's capital Kirkwall. As the ship left, a lone piper played and one of the Orkney tugs released its water canons.  This was the first visit to Orkney by "Oriana".
