Excursions Limited scoops international innovative shorex of the year award

Cruise Scotland Member, Excursions Limited, is celebrating after having picked up a coveted cruise industry award at the global Seatrade Insider Cruise Awards 2014 in Barcelona.

They received the award in the Innovative Shorex of the Year category which goes to any company or individual who has created, sourced or introduced an innovative shore excursion over the past 12 months.

Judged by an independent panel of 12 experienced cruise industry specialists, the Seatrade Insider Cruise Awards are one of the highest accolades in the cruise industry.

Excursions Limited was shortlisted against the American Queen Steamboat Company/Shore Excursions of America and Intercruises.

The winners were announced last night (September 17) at the eighth Seatrade Insider Cruise Awards, principal sponsor Fidelio Cruise, at the Seatrade Med 2014 Party held at Barcelona’s Gran Teatre Del Liceu.

Managing Director of Excursions Limited, Rupert Woodard said: “We pride ourselves in providing first class shore excursions for every part of the UK and are constantly looking at ideas for innovative new experiences to offer the cruise market, so we are absolutely thrilled to have received this accolade for our Catch of the Day – London’s Billingsgate Fish Market Tour”.

Commenting on the award, Chair of Cruise Scotland, Victor Sandison, said: ““The cruise industry is an exciting growth sector, but it is a highly-competitive, international business requiring continual fresh ideas for innovative and exciting new excursions to offer to cruise guests. I’d like to applaud the work of the team at Excursions Limited in picking up this award which is testimony to their enthusiasm, passion and commitment to deliver new products to the cruise market.”
