Fantastic start to 2013 cruise season at Greenock Ocean Terminal

Greenock Ocean Terminal has enjoyed a busy start to the 2013 cruise season, with 10 vessels calling into the Terminal within a 2 week period.

The season kicked off with the visit of the world’s largest ocean liner, the majestic QM2The sun was shining as the vessel came alongside, with a warm welcome awaiting the passengers who had arrived from Hamburg from both the Inverclyde Tourist Group and spectators who lined the local Esplanade to see the arrival of the vessel.

Some local school children were given the opportunity to come down to visit the Cruise Terminal while QM2 was berthed alongside, with one lucky group of children able to go on board after impressing the captain with their knowledge of the ship for a special guided tour.

The visit of QM2 was followed by maiden calls from TUI Cruises Mein Schiff, MSC Cruises MSC Magnifica and Celebrity Cruises Infinity, who made the most of the outstanding facilities and wide range of tours available on their first visit to Greenock Ocean Terminal.

The Terminal also welcomed visits from vessels who have visited the port on previous occasions, including Quest for Adventure, Silver Explorer and Adonia. Princess Cruises Caribbean Princess returned to the port with her 3,600 passengers to make the first of her 8 visits to the Terminal this year.
