Forth Ports takes cruise business to Seatrade Europe Expo

Forth Ports Limited is taking its cruise business to Europe’s largest cruise exhibition in Hamburg, Germany next week (24-26 Sept). Exhibiting to hundreds of industry executives, the Port Group will showcase the cruise offering of their main ports in Leith, Rosyth and Anchorage on the Forth for easy access to the Scottish Capital of Edinburgh; Dundee on the Tay; and Tilbury’s London Cruise Terminal.

Forth Ports celebrated a busy 2013 cruise season across the UK and closed the season on a high with healthy bookings in place for 2014, 2015 and even 2016.

The 2013 season saw the Ports welcome around 80 cruise liners in Scotland, bringing over 80,000 visitors. Liners ranged from the ultra-luxury ships the Seabourn Pride and the Azamara Quest, to the elegant Wind Surf which called into Leith for the first time over the summer. At the London Cruise Terminal, the season welcomed over 40 liners including the inaugural call of luxury liner the Seabourn Sojourn who take advantage of the port’s excellent location to London.

Nik Scott-Gray, Business Development Manager at Forth Ports, commented: “We are excited to be exhibiting at Seatrade again this year. This is a great opportunity to show the industry the offering we have in Scotland and London. We are continually improving the experience for visitors with investment in our cruise terminal facilities and we have launched a new onboard magazine this season for visitors. Our 2014 season is looking healthy and we are delighted to have some advance bookings for 2015 and 2016.
