Smooth Operators Spread a Bit of Magic for the Costa

Hazy sunshine greeted the Costa Magica when she anchored this morning in Kirkwall Bay for a day long visit to the County.

Over 2800 passengers came ashore, 1540 of them had booked tours around the Orkney Mainland and 28 coaches were on standby on Kirkwall Pier as the first tender boats arrived at the pontoon a little after 09:30 am.

The 272 metre vessel looked a formidable sight as the early morning haze cleared, and throughout the day there was a steady flow of visitors to Kirkwall to witness the hustle and bustle.

Geraldo de Almeida the  Shore Excursion Manager from Costa said ' Todays planning has been perfect and all the tours have worked like clockwork, I  look forward to our return visit on the 20th August.'
