October 31st 2025

Cruise Scotland has unveiled a refreshed senior management team as it looks to build on record growth and strengthen Scotland’s position as one of Europe’s leading cruise destinations.

After successful terms in office, Rob Mason has stepped down as Chair, while Allison McGuire has completed her term as Vice Chair following a change in role and company. John McGuigan has also completed his time on the management committee.

The leadership transition sees Melanie Henderson, of Lerwick Port Authority, move from her previous role as Secretary to become Chair of Cruise Scotland. Paul Olvhoj, of Orkney Harbours, has assumed a dual role as Vice Chair and Treasurer, while Marianne Beggs, of Forth Ports, takes on the position of Secretary. Kirsty Hutchison, of Stornoway Port, remains Market Development Manager.

These changes bring together extensive port and destination experience from across Scotland’s cruise network, underlining the organisation’s collaborative strength and regional breadth.

Melanie Henderson, Chair of Cruise Scotland, said: “Cruise Scotland has a track record of promoting Scotland as a world-class cruise destination. As we look ahead, our focus is on ensuring sustainable growth, enhancing the visitor experience, and continuing to strengthen the partnerships that have made Scotland such an attractive stop for global cruise lines. I’m delighted to work alongside colleagues from across the network to build on the strong foundations already in place.”

The new management committee will continue to work closely with members and industry partners to champion Scotland’s cruise offering in key international markets.
